Who We Are

Haul-In-One is a junk removal service operating in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We use technology, including artificial intelligence, to provide fast and accurate removal quotes. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

What We Collect and Why

Name and Email

To create your account, send you evaluation results, booking confirmations, and service updates.

Phone Number

To contact you about your booking if needed (e.g., scheduling changes, arrival updates). Providing your phone number is optional.

Address and Postal Code

To schedule and complete your junk removal pickup at your location, and to determine service area availability.

Photos of Your Items

To generate an AI-powered cost estimate for removal. Your photos are sent to OpenAI for analysis and are stored securely for your booking records. We accept JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and HEIC formats (up to 5 images, 10 MB each).

Item Descriptions

The text description you provide alongside your photos helps our AI generate a more accurate evaluation and quote.

Account Password

To secure your account. Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text. We never have access to your actual password.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Haul-In-One. Each receives only the minimum data necessary for its function:

OpenAI

Your photos and item descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API for AI-powered evaluation and pricing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing. We use OpenAI's GPT-4o model, which does not use submitted data to train its models via the API.

Amazon Web Services (AWS S3)

Your uploaded photos are stored securely on AWS S3 cloud storage servers.

PostHog (Analytics)

We use PostHog to understand how people use our website so we can improve the experience. This collects anonymous usage data such as pages visited and features used. No personal information like your name or email is shared with PostHog.

Email Delivery

We use a third-party email service to send transactional emails (evaluation results, booking confirmations). Your email address is shared with this provider solely for delivery purposes.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Session cookie — keeps you logged in while you use the site. Essential for the service to work.
  • Analytics cookies — PostHog uses cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. These do not identify you personally.

How We Protect Your Information

  • Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing.
  • Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.
  • We limit internal access to personal information to those who need it to provide the service.

Data Retention

We keep your account information and booking history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information and uploaded photos within 30 days. Some records may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., financial records).

  • Access your personal information that we hold.
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
